Hair Growth Oils and Regrowth
In order of value for hair regrowth, usually applied after washing or before bed, good oils are:
Your own oils and the wrong oils can cause blockage of folicles in men predisposed to hair loss, particularly in cases of male pattern baldness. This may be exacerbated by excess testosterone or parasites.
Use of low weight oils such as avacado seed oil or jojoba may unblock pores. Try using a light oil on an oily film sometime to see how well the light oil loosens the heavier oils.
Oils can decrease dryness in hair and may change the balance to a more healthy environment decreasing levels of parasites, reducing fungus and unblocking pores.
Scalp inflammation may be present in over 95% of people with androgenic alopecia and may be reduced with many of the following oils. Inflammation is the final step in the sequence of events that ultimately produces inactive follicles that are incapable of producing thick, terminal hair. Lack of fat, lack of sulphur and low blood flow are also factors.
Some of the best oils for dry hair, scalp and hair growth support include:
-
Rosemary oil Use sparingly to start as it will warm the skin in a way that may help by getting you to think about your scalp. Often mixed with jojoba or other carrier oils. Well mixed with 60% Jojoba, 30% Rosemary and 10% Sage to cleanse pores and aid in allowing hair to sprout.
- Avocado Seed oil is an oil that is not only suggested to have a pore unclogging effect, it also appears to decrease bad microbes and is listed in US patents for hair growing properties. Rub in gently with fingertips after washing.
-
Tea Tree oil is an oil that is not only suggested to have an unclogging effect, it also appears to decrease bad microbes and is listed in US patents for hair growing properties. Tea Tree also reduces scalp inflammation, but should be mixed as a few drops per tablespoon of carrier oil -- for example two drops of Tea Tree with a tablespoon of jojoba oil. Use in shampoo or mixed and rubbed in gently with fingertips after washing on a small spot the first day to test for your response.
-
Coconut oil is claimed by some to help the color as well as the quality of the hair. May help to reduce chronic skin inflammation within days. Comb or Rub in gently with fingertips after washing.
-
Seabuckthorn oil is anti-parasitic and antifungal, one of the few oils that helps with bad microbes anywhere, and is excellent mixed into non-SLS shampoo. Seabuckthorn works well directly applied to the scalp when mixed with olive oil as an anti-inflammatory topical solution. Seabuckthron was one of Gingus Kahn's secrets and will kill demodex foliculum to clear pores.
laboratory tests confirm that the peptides in Sea Buckthorn oils
support the natural immune system function. Rub in gently with fingertips after washing.
-
Flax oil is anti-parasitic and may help clean micropassages internally. Suggested use is to mix a tablespoon with a fourth cup cottage cheese and Cayanne pepper to taste and have daily with walnuts and fruit.
-
Jojoba oil unclogs pores and as a base oil with sage and rosemary and may help hair color. Rub in gently with fingertips after washing.
-
Emu oil often listed as a hair regrowth supporting oil, this no noticeable effect for me, but might be depending on you condition. My results were not significant, but tests have shown up to 20% growth increases. Rub in gently with fingertips after washing.
Emu oil is know to thicken skin and can push 80% of the hair out of the dormant stage, also see melatonin. Emu oil is also a good transdermal carrier moving chemicals through the skin.
-
Eucalyptus - Topical. Antiseptic, cools and stimulates blood flow, said to be beneficial for the treatment of hair loss. Mix with jojoba or avocado and rub in gently with fingertips after washing. Try a small spot to start in case of irritation.
