In karate; the title Black Belt indicates "The Beginning"; it is the point where the student has just the fundamentals down and may start the true adventure. One teacher said most students would attain that level far sooner by focus and energy on the fundamentals. The secret is that the fundamentals; done with "attitude" are critical for all else.
